Explore Engineering Career Opportunities At SFCF Universiti Malaysia Pahang
KUANTAN, 9 October 2013 – Talent Corporation Malaysia Berhad (TalentCorp), in collaboration with Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP), is hosting a two-day Sector Focused Career Fair (SFCF) from 9 October to 10 October 2013. SFCF at UMP highlights the diverse career opportunities in Malaysia’s engineering sector and is the first held at the East Coast this year.
The event was officiated by YB Datuk Haji Abdul Manan bin Ismail, MP Paya Besar. The SFCF is one of TalentCorp’s initiatives to increase career awareness and develop better understanding of Malaysia’s key economic sectors, in line with its objective to optimise Malaysian talent. The event is open to public and admission is free.
“The objective of the SFCF is to create greater awareness and interest amongst young talents on the diverse and dynamic high-income career opportunities in Malaysia. One of our strategic priorities at TalentCorp is to optimise Malaysian talent so that we are able to best match the underlying capabilities and inclinations of our young Malaysians with rewarding and fulfilling opportunities arising from our economic transformation,” said Siti Norliza Sahar, Head of Malaysian Talent Development-Graduate Employability of TalentCorp.
At the event, graduates were given the opportunity to meet employers, obtain career information and insights, established contacts through networking as well as identifying career, employment and internship opportunities. SFCF UMP provides the platform for graduates to engage with chief executives and senior HR practitioners from more than 25 participating companies which include; Honda Malaysia, WCT Berhad, Proton Holdings, Strand Aerospace, MMC Oil & Gas and Mercedes Benz.
“The engineering sector offers one of the most highly sought after jobs in light of Malaysia’s rapid economic development and growth. As an employer, the SFCF gives us a platform to engage and scout industry-related graduates directly from universities and colleges in Malaysia. We are privileged to be able to play a role in developing and enhancing local talents as well as helping the nation to achieve its transformational goals. There will be a critical demand for engineering talents as the nation develops and we hope to have more opportunities to be part of it,” said Mustaffa Muhammad Matthew Thaufiq, Human Capital Development & Training Manager, Strand Aerospace Malaysia.
The two-day event features Career Talk, a platform developed for the young generation to engage with prominent industry leaders, and Couch Corner Slot for visitors, especially students, to interact with participating companies in a relaxed atmosphere.
